Build Real Financial Skills That Actually Stick

Most people learn about budgets once and forget everything by next month. We're doing something different. These courses run over several weeks because building genuine money habits takes time and practice.

Our upcoming programs start in mid-2025, giving you space to plan ahead. We've kept groups intentionally small—around 15 people per session—so you'll get actual feedback on your own budget situations, not generic advice that might work for someone else.

Each course mixes real examples from everyday spending with practical tools you can start using immediately. People who've gone through these programs tell us the weekly rhythm helps them stay accountable without feeling overwhelmed.

Learn tracking methods that match how you actually spend money

What's Coming in 2025

We're running three distinct programs this year. Each one focuses on a specific aspect of budget management that people consistently struggle with. You can take them individually or combine them as your needs change.

Starts 15 July 2025

Personal Budget Foundations

8 weeks • Tuesday evenings 7-9pm AEST

This one's for people who've tried budgeting apps and spreadsheets but nothing quite clicked. We'll work through different tracking approaches until you find what fits your actual spending patterns—not some ideal version of how you think you should manage money.

  • Set up systems that match your real financial habits
  • Handle irregular income without constant stress
  • Build emergency funds that actually grow over time
  • Adjust plans when life throws unexpected expenses
  • Weekly check-ins with personalized feedback on your progress
Starts 9 September 2025

Household Budget Coordination

6 weeks • Thursday evenings 7-9pm AEST

Managing money gets complicated when multiple people are involved. This course addresses the practical challenges of shared expenses, different spending styles, and financial decisions that affect everyone in your household.

  • Create shared budget systems that respect individual preferences
  • Navigate financial discussions without constant disagreement
  • Split expenses fairly when incomes aren't equal
  • Plan for major purchases as a team
  • Small group format allows for household-specific guidance
Starts 21 October 2025

Seasonal Budget Planning

5 weeks • Monday evenings 7-8:30pm AEST

December always seems to wreck everyone's budget, but other expensive periods sneak up too—back to school costs, annual insurance payments, holiday travel. We'll work on spreading these predictable spikes across the whole year.

  • Map your personal spending calendar for the year ahead
  • Build sinking funds for expenses you know are coming
  • Handle holiday spending without January regret
  • Prepare for annual bills before they arrive
  • Adjust throughout the year as circumstances shift
Starts 18 November 2025

Debt Reduction Strategies

7 weeks • Wednesday evenings 7-9pm AEST

Paying down debt while covering regular expenses feels impossible sometimes. This course focuses on realistic approaches that don't require you to live on rice and beans for three years. We look at your specific debt mix and income situation to build workable plans.

  • Compare different payoff methods for your situation
  • Balance debt reduction with other financial needs
  • Handle setbacks without abandoning your plan
  • Negotiate with creditors when payments get tight
  • Confidential discussions in a supportive environment

Who's Teaching These Courses

Our instructors have spent years working with individuals and families on budget challenges. They've seen every possible money situation—from students managing their first independent finances to households juggling multiple income streams.

What makes them effective isn't some magical formula. It's that they've learned to listen carefully to what's actually happening in your financial life, then adapt standard budgeting principles to fit your reality rather than forcing you into rigid systems.

Both bring practical experience from finance backgrounds, but more importantly, they understand that real budgeting rarely looks like the textbook examples.

Torben Lindström

Personal Finance Coaching

Torben worked in retail banking for twelve years before switching to financial education. He got tired of seeing people receive loans they couldn't afford, so he started teaching sustainable money management instead. His courses focus on building systems that survive real life—job changes, medical expenses, all the things that derail perfect budget plans.
